The Rocky Mountains with its snow-capped peaks, dramatic wilderness and alpine lakes has been high on our places to visit list for quite some time now, therefore, after Seattle we headed to Glacier National Park in Montana, which is one of the most beautiful part of the Rockies.
Glacier National Park encompasses over 4000 km2 and it is divided into 5 regions: Polebridge, Lake McDonald, Two Medicine, St Mary and Many Glaciers.
We stayed on a ranch at the east side of the park and visited St Mary, Many Glaciers and Two Medicine. The view from our accommodation was amazing, we enjoyed a true natural setting.
Glacier is a hiker's paradise with over 1000 km of trails, in 2,5 days we have done the Iceberg trail, the Hidden Lake Overlook trail and the Otokomi Lake trail. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, and we were not able to hike the scenic Highline trail due to fog and wind.
We have also driven through the breath-taking Going-to-the-Sun Road, which is an 80km long road, that traverses the park.
Now let the pictures speak for themselves.
Glacier National Park is a truly amazing place, and 2,5 days were not at all enough to explore all its beauty, so we will definitely need to come back here at some point.
